history OF DENIM REVIVAL
A Legacy of Craftsmanship, Passion & Family Tradition Since 2000
From a small vintage denim shop in Los Angeles to an internationally recognized destination for vintage denim restoration, professional jeans alterations, and custom denim, Denim Revival’s story is one of passion, determination, and exceptional craftsmanship.

2000 — Where It All Began
Denim Revival was founded in 2000 by Sean Hornbeak on 3rd Street in Los Angeles, California. The boutique quickly became a popular destination for denim enthusiasts and collectors searching for rare vintage Levi’s jeans, denim jackets, and authentic pieces dating back to the 1950s.
That same year, Anahit (Anna) Adamyan, who had recently immigrated from Armenia with her family, joined Denim Revival as a professional tailor. Her exceptional skills in denim alterations, repairs, and restoration quickly earned her a loyal following. Customers began requesting Anna personally to handle their treasured denim garments.
2006 — A New Chapter: The Adamyan Family
In 2006, Sean Hornbeak received an exciting career opportunity from the renowned denim brand J Brand and offered Anna the opportunity to purchase Denim Revival.
After a family discussion, the Adamyans decided to acquire the business, beginning a new era of family ownership and management.
Under Anna’s leadership, Denim Revival expanded its expertise in professional denim alterations, original chain-stitch hemming, invisible denim repairs, vintage Levi’s restoration, and custom denim design.
2008 — Growing During the Financial Crisis
When the 2008 financial crisis forced countless American businesses to close, the Adamyan family made a bold decision.
Instead of reducing operations or laying off employees, Denim Revival expanded.
The company relocated just one block away on Los Angeles’ 3rd Street into a space twice the size of its previous location. More skilled professionals joined the team, allowing Denim Revival to expand its services and serve more customers.
Denim Revival didn’t just survive the financial crisis. It grew stronger.
Over the following years, the company developed relationships with internationally recognized fashion brands, designers, Hollywood movie studios, museums, and private collectors.
2017 — Expanding to Las Vegas
In 2017, Denim Revival opened its second location in Las Vegas, Nevada, led by Gayane Adamyan, whose dedication and vision brought the family’s craftsmanship to a new market.
The expansion allowed Denim Revival to serve customers throughout Southern Nevada while maintaining its established presence in Los Angeles.
Today — Trusted by Denim Enthusiasts Worldwide
Today, Denim Revival proudly operates in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, serving customers from across the United States and around the world.
Clients regularly ship their treasured denim garments from Europe, Australia, Asia, and beyond, trusting Denim Revival’s specialists with everything from everyday jeans to rare, collectible vintage Levi’s dating back to the late 1800s.
